Essential Oil Diffusers

Choosing the Right Diffuser For You  By B Briggs

What is a diffuser you may ask, well a diffuser is a device that allows some one to take a therapeutic grade essential oil and disperse them so that the natural fragrance fills a room. The benefits are improved physical, mental and emotional well being, with therapeutic benefits to the brain as well. Depending on which oils you are using you may begin to feel the cleansing effect as your body eliminates toxins, negative emotions maybe released, the soothing of muscle tension. There are a number of diffusers each having a different delivery method for dispersing essential oils in to the air.

1 Lamp Rings
A lamp ring is a device that contains a lamp and a ring which can be made from various materials such as metal or ceramic and placed over the lamp with a few drops of oil placed in the ring, the lamp then heats the oil. This type of lamp is not expensive but if any oil comes in contact with the bulb it could break the lamp or start a fire so care must be taken, heating the oil in this manner is less effective and could alter and change the therapeutic benefits of the oil.

2 Candle diffusers
Candle diffusers are similar to lamp rings, the chief difference is the method by which they heat the oil. Most are a clay pot type looking device where water is placed in the burner then a few drops of essential oils and the burner placed over the candle which heats the oil directly, this type of essential oil diffuser must be treated like a candle and not left unattended for fear of starting a fire.

3 Atomizers
If you are new to diffusing then this is a good place to start. Atomizers disperses oils into the air via a fine mist of evaporated water. You can generally use any therapeutic grade oils with this type of model, controlling the strength of the aroma can be done easily by adding more or less oil as needed. They can be plugged in and should be cleaned after every use.

4 Nebulizers
Nebulizers are complex devices that turn oils into vapor, nebulizers disperses a more concentrated aroma in to the air and is more for a serious type of therapy. The essential oil diffuser is used typically for a more targeted emotional treatment, the molecules are broken down into a fine mist and disperse into the air through a glass nebulizer making a hissing sound as the oil infused molecules escaping the glass nebulizer which should be cleaned out after every use.

5 Fan diffusers
Fan diffusers come in a number of models, you can get models that can do a large room or a small space. They can run on batteries or can be plugged in. Fan diffusers do not use heat to release the molecules in essential oils, they do it by blowing cool air through an all natural pad that contains essential oils. These types of fan diffusers can be a little noisy, there is no doubt that aromatherapy offers a number of emotional benefits and choosing the right diffuser can ensure that the therapeutic grade essential oils can do their job and provide targeted therapy.

J-A-M meditation

Join the j-a-m with Bee Gees Robin Gibb — the Countdown Has Started!
What involves 12,000 people all in one place, 111 countries, 165 performers, 2 women of wisdom, 1 minute and no money??
It’s a dynamic new campaign to shift human consciousness from stress to serenity, one minute at a time. Entitled ‘just-a-minute’ (j-a-m), the initiative introduces regular, one minute periods of silence into the lives of stressed out city executives, busy moms, high profile public figures—and why not your life too! Read on…

In an ever-increasing global climate of chaos and change, the idea of taking regular short breaks to re-connect with one’s inner strength and values may seem far-fetched if not downright futile. However, taking just-a-minute each hour has been found to make the following 59 minutes calmer, more focused and more effective.

Just-a-minute is about helping people just like you incorporate meditation into busy schedules and stressful circumstances . Did you know that the positive effects of meditation on our health and well-being are well-known and well-documented? Meditation is now offered in schools, hospitals, offices, government buildings and prisons ??to help people relax, slow down and refresh the mind. Increasingly, doctors are recommending meditation for patients with chronic problems such as heart conditions, AIDS and cancer, as well as depression, hyperactivity and ADD (attention deficit disorder).

Organised by the Brahma Kumaris, a global women-led spiritual organisation, the just-a-minute campaign includes multi-media tools, such as one-minute spoken meditations downloadable onto computers or podcast, a creative web campaign, and events in major cities across the world, including Rio, Moscow, Sydney, Johannesburg and Madrid.

Countdown to the campaign’s launch has started. 12,000 people will participate in this kick-off event at Wembley Arena in the UK on Sunday 17th September from 3:00- 5:30pm British Summer Time (BST). Organizers report that, as of 12th September, the tickets, which are (gasp!) free, have nearly all been claimed. Simultaneous free events in 111 countries will be linked in by web and satellite technology.

The launch is dedicated to the United Nations International Day of Peace (September 21st), an annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence established by a United Nations General Assembly Resolution (A/Res/55/282).
.
If you live near Wembley, you might still be able to get a ticket (see instructions on the j-a-m website). Otherwise, you can watch the full webcast on the day from the comfort of your home from www.just-a-minute.org. Check http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html to find the time in your location.

The show itself will feature 165 performers, including Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees (playing several old songs and premiering a new one), actor and producer Clarke Peters, comediennes Ruby Wax and Lenette van Dongen, author and PR guru Lynne Franks, top recording artists Bliss and Massive Attack’s Michael Timothy, percussionists David Jones and Adesose Wallace, harpist Liehsja Andrea, Muslim female band The Ulfah Collective and the Zamar Gospel Choir.

Two remarkable women of wisdom, yogis who between them have the combined power of nearly 150 years of meditation and who lead the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University (www.bkwsu.org), will make a special appearance together on the international stage.

And yes, for one minute at 16.25pm (BST) all 12,000 people in the Wembley Arena, together with millions worldwide, will go SILENT. The events taking place in 111 countries will also simultaneously peak with a minute of silence. The beauty and diversity of our human family will be reflected in more than a hundred images filling Wembley’s huge screens. The energy of peace will encircle the world like a wave.
You don’t have to wait for the launch to start benefiting from just-a-minute. Visit the j-a-m website, www.just-a-minute.org, and experience 21, one-minute meditations (with and without music) and film clips from prominent personalities sharing how silence works in their lives—all for free.

Join the j-a-m and restore your peace of mind, increase your power of concentration, recharge your mental and spiritual batteries or simply ‘chill out’ for just a minute!

Dealing with Change

DESERVABILITY

If children gave up when they fell for the first time, they would never learn to walk!

When changes start happening in your life, they can feel uncomfortable.  Remember when you first learned to drive a car how you kept stalling and battled to co-ordinate between your hands and feet.  The more nervous and uptight you got, the more difficult it became.  However, after practicing, and learning by trial and error, we finally manage to get it right. Handling change in your life is pretty much the same.

Don’t be in a hurry; everything happens at the right time and at the right pace!

When we work with change in our lives and sometimes feel that the changes are not happening fast enough we get annoyed and lose hope, maybe even give up just before they manifest.  Remember that everything has its time and place.  If you are not seeing the changes, it could be because deep down you are either afraid or feel that you do not deserve whatever it is you are working towards.

In the infinity of life where I am, all is perfect, whole and complete.
My life is ever new. Each moment of my lie is new and fresh and vital.
I use my affirmative thinking to create exactly what I want.
This is a new day.  I am a new me.
I think differently.  I speak differently.  I act differently.
Others treat me differently.
My new world is a reflection of my new thinking.
It is a joy and a delight to plant new seeds,
For I know these seeds will become my new experiences.
All is well in my world.

Be kind to and always support yourself for at the end of the day, you are all you have!

It’s so easy to give yourself a hard time when you slip-up.  Everyone makes mistakes, it makes us human and that’s how we learn.  If we keep making the same mistakes however, then we are not ready to make changes.  Identifying where you went wrong and finding out how to not repeat the pattern are the first steps in changing a situation.  You also need to be honest with yourself and take responsibility. Blaming others is the easiest cop-out.

Once you learn the spiritual laws and follow them to the letter, then the “magic” will be demonstrated in your life.

The more ways you can reinforce your new learning, the better.  A few suggestions follow:

Expressing Gratitude
Writing Affirmations
Sitting in Meditation
Enjoying Exercise
Practicing Good Nutrition
Doing Affirmations Aloud
Singing Affirmations
Taking Time for Relaxation Exercises
Using Visualization, Mental Imagery
Reading and Study

When you feel that you are “falling off”, always go back to basics when you feel that your life is not going according to plan.  Try and remember what you did before that seems to work.  Sometimes we get so busy with life that we forget the basic principles which we have already learned.

Order your day!

When you wake up do you feel like you can’t handle another day or do you tell yourself that today is your day?  Take a few minutes each morning to think of what you can do today that will change your life forever.  Even if it’s only experiencing an awesome cup of coffee!

Each one of us is totally linked with the Universe and with all of life.
The Power is within us to expand the horizons of our consciousness.

Stop scaring yourself!

Some people would rather leave the planet than change.

Why do we insist on scaring ourselves with thoughts of doom and gloom?  We are scared to open up and trust in ourselves and the Universe.  We spend our lives wondering what people think of us.  We get scared when we open up to another person because we feel they might hurt us.  There are no guarantees in life only the opportunity to enjoy our experiences.

When we get frightened, we want to control everything, and then we shut off the flow of our good.  Trust life.  Everything we need is here for us.

Take time for yourself!

You should allocate at least ten minutes a day for yourself where you can be alone.  A lot of people take time out in the loo.  Take a walk outside, look at a flower or tree.  Just enjoy being alone with you.

Acknowledge yourself for being centered where there is incredible chaos around you.  Acknowledge yourself for being courageous and for doing so much more than you thought you could.
