Werner Herzog’s beautiful film explores the Buddhist Kalachakra initiation: the creation of a sand mandala.

It includes interviews with the Dalai Lama, and shows him not on a platform discussing contemporary issues, but what he is really here to do: praying with 1000s of pilgrims.

Footage includes some secret rituals and a pilgrimage to the holy Mount Kailash in Tibet, with a powerful soundtrack of Tibetan music and monks’ chanting.

Fractal Time

Fractal Time by Gregg Braden (Hay House) CD/Book
In this fascinating work, Gregg Braden merges the modern discoveries of nature’s patterns  (fractals) with the ancient view of a cyclical universe.  The result is a powerful model of time – fractal time – and a realistic window into what we can expect for the mysterious year 2012 and beyond.
Applying fractal time to the history of the world and life, he proposes that everything from the war and peace between nations to the patterns of human relationships mirror the returning cycles of our past. As each cycle repeats, it carries a more powerful amplified version of itself.
Gregg suggests that if we can see time from this perspective the past reveals the great secret of our moment in history and what we can expect as we approach December 31 2012.

Virus of the Mind

Virus of the Mind by Richard Brodie (Hay House)
Virus of the Mind is the first popular work devoted to the science of memetics, a controversial new field that transcends psychology, biology, anthropology and cognitive science. Memetics is the science of memes, the invisible but very real DNA of human society. The author carefully builds on the work of Dawkins, Hofstedter, Dennett and others who have become fascinated with memes and their potential impact on human society. Mind viruses have already infected governments, educational systems and inner cities, leading to some of the most pervasive and troublesome problems of society today: youth gangs, the welfare cycle, the deterioration of public schools and ever growing government bureaucracy. This thought provoking CD  will challenge you to re-evaluate your own thought systems and analyse how much your thoughts are in fact viruses of the mind.

The Transformation of Consciousness

The Mayan Calendar & the Transformation of Consciousness
Illustrated lecture by Dr Carl Johan Calleman,
Mayan expert and author from Sweden. 2009. 118 minutes
Carl Johan Calleman is an internationally recognised authority in the studies of the Mayan calendar, and one of very few foreigners recognised by the Mayan Elders. He is author of several books covering many aspects of the calendar. At this insightful lecture at UCT Medical Campus in 2009, Dr Calleman premised that the Mayan calendar was not predicting the end of the world in 2012, but a planetary awakening and transformation of mankind into more enlightened ways of living.

The Mayan New Dawn

Authentic Mayan calendar and prophecies explained by Mayan Elder Don Alejandro Perez Oxlaj
Interviewed by Dr Calleman. 2006. 76 minutes

Don Alejandro holds the wisdom of the Mayan cosmology and is the 13th generation in a lineage of Mayan medicine men. He is head of the Mayan Council of elders in Guetemala, representing the 23 ethnic groups of the Maya. He is the Grand Elder of the Continental Council of Indigenous Elders and Priests. In 2008 Don Alejandro was named Ambassador for the Indigenous People of Guatemala. In this unique film he is interviewed by Dr Carl Calleman with questions pertaining specifically to the meaning of the “end date” of the Mayan calendar and the message for humankind. Don Alejandro gives recognition to the quality of Dr Calleman’s work, but speaks out strongly against foreigners who do not understand the true meaning of the calendar and who thus confuse humanity with threatening messages. Do come and hear Don Alejandro’s inspiring words for yourself, his message to “My brothers and sisters: we are all flowers of the earth . . .”

The Neptune Cycle by Lois Stahl

altThe Neptune Cycle – 2012 by Lois Stahl (Raider International)
This is a story written to empower others and give them an insight as to the possible events that can occur as the earth slows down on its own axis to reach zero gravity.  It is a story of spiritual awakening and of learning respect and honour for all cultures and different ways of life. The story is set in a small community in South Africa and tells of their courageous attempt to survive the earth shifts that take place during this year.  Through various indigenous cultures the community learns ways to live in harmony with the earth and each other.  Their own personal dramas and events are indicative of the events occurring on the planet during this year. Thought provoking and much to be recommended.
